Awarding of the IB DiplomaIn order for a student to earn the IB Diploma, that student must:

Receive a minimum of 24 total points on all IB assessments, and
  • Earn numeric grades (no "1"s) on six subjects assessed by the IBO, and
  • Score at least 12 points for 3 Higher Level courses (16 points if 4 HLs are taken) and
  • Score at least 9 points for 3 Standard Level courses (6 points if 2 SLs are taken) and
  • Earn at least a D or higher for both the TOK and Extended Essay requirements, and
  • Score no grade of 2 or below for a Higher Level course, and
  • Score no more than one grade of 2 for a Standard Level course, and
  • Earn no more than three grades of 3 or below for all subjects, and
  • Meet all CAS requirements, and
  • Commit no malpractice on any assessments conducted by the IBO,

OR

Receive a minimum of 28 total points on all IB assessments, and
  • Earn numeric grades (no "1"s) on six subjects assessed by the IBO, and
  • Score at least 11 points for 3 Higher Level courses (14 points if 4 HLs are taken) and
  • Score at least 8 points for 3 Standard Level courses (5 points if 2 SLs are taken) and
  • Earn at least a D or higher for either the TOK and Extended Essay requirements, while receiving at least an E for the other, and
  • Score no more than one grade of 2 for a Higher Level course, and
  • Score no more than three grades of 2 for a Standard Level course, and
  • Earn no more than three grades of 3 or below for all subjects, and
  • Meet all CAS requirements, and
  • Commit no malpractice on any assessments conducted by the IBO.
